Teaching: Quantum Mechanics

Quantum Physics, PHY361, will be offered in Spring semester of 2018.

Quantum is typically offered every-other-year, and has PHY210 (Modern Physics, offered in the fall) as a pre-requisite.  We use a linear-algebra approach to Quantum, and while students are not required to take linear algebra, it is highly beneficial for students to be enrolled in linear algebra (or have already taken it).

This course includes group tests, where students work together on conceptual multiple choice questions, and a final paper on a (quantum) topic of the student’s choice.  The paper is created in the professional typesetting package LaTeX, which students learn in this class.
